This church stands on a dominant site on the north bank of the Thames next to Lambeth Palace. It served as the parish church of St Mary-at-Lambeth for 900 years before before being deconsecrated in 1972. The building and churchyard retains some its ‘aura’ and was the subject of a series of work exploring the building and its layers of history. One of the works, 'Renewal' was exhibited at the Courtauld Institute as part of the exhibition 'Culture Bound'
